Barton Creek Golf - 72 holes

Golf is considered the essence of Barton Creek.  The four eighteen - hole
championship golf courses designed by the masters - Tom Fazio, Arnold Palmer and
Ben Crenshaw are enhanced by the resort's spectacular natural environment and are a
tribute to both the game and the unique setting of the Texas Hill Country.

FAZIO FOOTHILLS GOLF COURSE Par 72

Renowned course architect Tom Fazio created a strikingly beautiful design masterpiece rated Number One in Texas by Golf Digest. The course offers eighteen holes of pure pleasure with no lack of challenge.  Barton Creek's signature golf course is an astonishingly beautiful design
masterpiece. The architectural layout features dramatic cliff-lined
fairways, natural limestone caves, waterfalls, and superb Champions Bermuda
greens which give golfers 18 holes of pure pleasure with no lack of challenge. This
unforgettable golfing experience provides plenty of elevation change and visual
impact.

Tom Fazio puts a premium on long, accurate drives. The small, Champions
Bermuda greens with undulating aprons and grass bunkers make the Fazio Foothills
course a shotmaker's paradise. The six different sets of tee boxes appeal to a wide
variety of skill levels.

The Fazio Foothills course, established in 1986, ranks at the top of all expert's
lists. Golf Digest rates the Fazio Foothills among the Best Resort Courses in
America, #1 in Texas and most impressively, 60th in the hallowed list of the 100
Greatest Golf Courses in America. The course is consistently named Overall
Favorite by Texas Professional Golfers and has the distinction of having not only
one of the Most Difficult golf holes (the par-five #18), but also several holes listed
among the State's 18 Best or Most Beautiful (holes #9, 10, 16 and 18) as
recognized by The Dallas Morning News. The Fazio Foothills course served as
home to the Liberty Mutual Legends of Golf senior tournament from 1990 - 1994.

CRENSHAW CLIFFSIDE GOLF COURSE Par 71

Complementing the Fazio Foothills course, touring professional, Ben Crenshaw and his partner, Bill
Coore, styled their course in the traditional manner, wonderfully integrating its natural design into the
surrounding terrain.

The natural beauty of the Texas Hill Country is the focus of course architects, Ben Crenshaw and partner, Bill Coore. Rolling hills, natural plateaus, soft contours and native vegetation are harmoniously woven into a playable championship layout that provides a variety of interesting holes to delight members and visitors alike.

Austin's well-known native son and Barton Creek's touring professional, Ben Crenshaw, admits his is an "old-style" philosophy. "We believe the best architect is nature and the best players' courses make good use of the natural terrain. We let the land dictate the routing rather than imposing ourselves on the landscape."  Indeed, Crenshaw's course plays across the land quite naturally and most magically and was rated 38th among the 50 Best Courses in Texas by The Dallas Morning
News.

As an ardent student of golf's history, Crenshaw offers a rare taste of a traditional layout in his design. The course features broad, rolling fairways, widely-varied green sizes and is a fitting tribute to the way the game was once played. The large, undulating putting surfaces give golfers their biggest challenge. While the average golfer will attempt to use the natural slopes to aid an approach shot, the low handicap player faces the challenge of positioning the ball at the most advantageous
point for an approach putt.

As part of the environmentally sensitive considerations, durable grasses were utilized. Bermuda 419 is used on the fairways and Tifdwarf Bermuda for the greens. These drought-and-heat tolerant native grasses lessen the need for man's intervention.

The 18th hole is an exciting climax which plays slightly uphill. Approach shots must cross a running creek to land on a low-lying green, which is seemingly etched into the hillside. The Crenshaw Cliffside course is both forgiving for the novice and challenging for the seasoned golfer.

PALMER LAKESIDE GOLF COURSE Par 71

Completing Barton Creek's 72 magnificent holes is the Arnold Palmer - designed course at nearby Barton Creek Lakeside. The Palmer Lakeside course offers both the serious and occasional golfer a series of challenges, delights and breathtaking lake views. Players are tantalized by twilight glimpses of wandering white-tail deer and the opportunity to play on the best Champions Bermuda grass greens in Texas. The legendary Arnold Palmer Layout at Barton Creek Lakeside unfolds on the
shores of Lake Travis and presents golfers with a series of challenges and
breathtaking views.

Ideally perched on a secluded hilltop overlooking Lake Travis, just 25 miles west
of Baton Creek Resort, Barton Creek Lakeside is a hidden retreat that rewards
guests with striking, panoramic lake views and twilight glimpses of white-tail deer.

Lakeside's extraordinary championship golf course, designed by the King of Golf,
Arnold Palmer, opened for play in 1986. Palmer's course is fun for proficient
players and quite manageable for novices - offering exceptional enjoyment for
every class of golfer.

Prowess with the driver is a plus for a good round of golf, as Palmer's course is a
big-hitter's delight. Professional golfers rate Palmer's design among the Top Ten
Texas courses and consider Lakeside to have the best Champions Bermuda greens
in the State. A cascading waterfall and native flora highlight Lakeside's signature
11th hole, a magnificent par-three. Indeed, The Dallas Morning News ranks it
among the 18 most Beautiful in Texas. The par-five 12th and par-four 13th holes
are both doglegs left with sloping fairways that reward any player who can "turn the
ball over and take it deep."

Guests and club members alike enjoy the quiet refuge of Lakeside's clubhouse
retreat which overlooks the golf course and affords a lake view that is nothing short
of spectacular.

FAZIO CANYONS GOLF COURSE Par 72

It's a call for celebration as Barton Creek recently finished construction of its
fourth, 18-hole championship golf course.

The 7,161-yard, par-72 layout boasts the signature of Tom Fazio, the legendary
golf designer of Barton Creek's existing 18-hole Fazio course. Fazio's second
masterpiece will be located two miles from the resort's main clubhouse and have its
own clubhouse and pro shop.

Guests will particularly enjoy the new extensive practice facilities of the Golf
Advantage School with driving range, teaching tee, putting and chipping greens
and bunkers.

Expectations for the new course are high and Tom Fazio considers the site
"outstanding, affording players breathtaking views." The course will offer numerous
scenic holes lined with stately Red Oaks and Sycamore trees and feature
spectacular Hill Country vistas and views of Short Springs Branch, a beautiful
limestone bed creek which meanders throughout the course. The 561-yard, par-5
finishing hole will be tremendous and by all accounts will rival Barton Creek's
existing No. 18.

Additionally, the design and construction of the new course will embody a Fazio
trademark of protecting and preserving the environment. Silk and rock fences and
other control devices will reduce sediment and erosion surrounding construction
areas and thousands of acres will be set aside to preserve wildlife habitat.

The Fazio Canyons course will perfectly compliment Barton Creek's existing 54
holes of golf and will undoubtedly rank among many national "best" lists. Make
plans to visit early.
